A champion makes an effort every day to improve his / her performance. A champion sets his / her goals high, then is persistent in attaining such goals. A champion often experiences failure, setback and disappointment, but he / she makes a conscious decision to continue pressing on to attain dreams.I welcome you to the 74th year of the Indiana Jaycees! As the 2004 State President, I look forward to working with you, the chapters, and the region teams as we set out to “Create Champions By Helping People!” In reviewing the grand history of the Jaycees and the traditions established by the Indiana Jaycees, I sincerely believe our purpose as an organization is to make our members and the local, state, national, and international community better for all. The Jaycee organization can bring such capacity to all people–regardless of color, gender, ethnicity, or economics. What make the Indiana and the United States Jaycees the absolute best organization for young adults is there is a “place at the table for all” in Jaycees. One person or a small group can make a big difference in a community through Jaycees–this is why I am proud to be a Jaycee!
